1. About PennCamm
PennCamm designs and hand-assembles custom small-format cameras in California. Our team includes fewer than ten contributors. We are not a registered LLC or corporation and do not hold an EIN, TIN, or similar identifier. Each product is handmade, unique, and individually tested before shipment.
2. Orders and Production
Each camera is built to customer specifications. Once a build is confirmed and payment received, production begins immediately. Changes cannot be made after this point. All design references, messages, and media shared with PennCamm remain confidential.
3. Payments
- Payhip
- Square
- Cash
All sales are final once payment is confirmed. PennCamm does not accept checks or recurring payments. Work begins only after full payment or deposit is received. Clothes do not require deposit. Warranty purchases can also be made through Payhip.
4. Returns and Refunds
Because all products are handmade and built-to-order, returns are only accepted within 7 days of delivery and only for manufacturing defects. Requests must include:
- Order ID and purchase date
- Customer name
- Photo or video evidence of the issue
No returns will be accepted for misuse, modification, water damage, or physical damage caused by the user.
5. Warranty Options
There are two available warranty types:
- Manufacturer Warranty (30 Days, Free) – Covers manufacturing defects under normal use. Excludes damage, modification, or abuse.
- Extended Warranty (1 Year, $4.99) – Covers all accidental or normal-use damages except deliberate destruction or extreme neglect.
All warranty claims must include:
- Order ID and date of purchase
- Customer name
- Detailed description of damage
- Photo or video evidence
Warranty processing requires time for verification and documentation.
6. Supplier and Part Liability
PennCamm uses components from various suppliers. In the rare event of a failure caused by a defective supplier part, PennCamm will assist by contacting the supplier on the customer’s behalf. However, PennCamm itself is not financially responsible for damages caused by third-party components. The buyer or their legal representative may contact PennCamm with their order ID, purchase date, and supporting photos for supplier follow-up.
7. Data and Communication
Official communication should occur via email or in-person. Messages through social platforms such as Instagram are allowed but not preferred for official correspondence or warranty requests.
8. Liability
PennCamm’s responsibility is limited to the repair or replacement of the product under applicable warranty. We are not responsible for data loss, incidental damages, or delay in production. Users are responsible for regularly backing up photo and video files.
9. Employment and Conduct Policy
PennCamm operates as a small, collaborative team. The following standards apply:
- Employees or contributors enrolled in school must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- All commission work requires proper documentation and approval.
- PennCamm is not liable for funds mishandled by individual employees or contractors. Such issues must be reported for internal review.
- Employees must follow all confidentiality, safety, and ethical guidelines.
10. Manufacturing and Quality
All cameras are hand-assembled in California using precision M3 hex and Phillips fasteners. Our mounts are proprietary and not compatible with standard tripods. Each unit is visually and electronically inspected before shipping. Minor tool marks or cosmetic variations are considered normal.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. All disputes will first be handled through direct communication before any formal legal process.
12. Updates
PennCamm may update these terms at any time. Revisions will be posted at cam.pennbrenn.com with a new effective date.
